The Temporary Full Time instructor will teach all assigned programs and provide academic administrative support as well as academic advising/assistance to students. The instructor will be responsible for planning and delivering approved curriculum. Along with the classroom hours, there will be a strong focus on computer-based instruction.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Teaches 32 hours per week.
Prepares lesson plans.
Delivers lectures and facilitates project-based learning (PBL) on various subject matter areas.
Assist Academic Deans and Program Managers in oversight of faculty/student for students in assigned programs.
Actively contribute to program improvement and curriculum development
Assists students in the learning process.
Responsible for maintaining published office hours for student advising and tutoring.
Evaluates and monitors students’ progress.
Keeps necessary records to report student academic progress (SAP) to the campus manager.
Attends and assists with planning for quarterly in-service meetings.
Stays abreast with the novelties in education and teaching area by attending professional development activities outside of CSI.
Organizes and leads field trips for students at least once per quarter.
Actively contributes to program improvement.
Provides academic advising and support to students.
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of pedagogical methods for teaching.
Knowledge of project-based learning (PBL).
Knowledge of blended learning methodology (BLM) in teaching.
Native or near-native ability to speak English.
Ability to use the following equipment and software packages with proficiency:
Microsoft Office Suite
American Speech sounds (AS) software
Ability to use online learning tools, such as Tell Me More (TMM)
Education and Experience
The position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher along with specific qualifications related to teaching assignments in Skill Building and/or ESL programs. Prior experience teaching is required.
