Program Manager

The purpose of the Program Manager is to develop curriculum for courses and serve as subject matter expert and a resource to instructors.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

•          Curriculum development.

•          Train and coach instructors on delivery and format of curriculum.

•          Manage faculty.

•          Class instruction - lectures and labs.

•          Ensure that current curriculum matches certification body minimum standards for programs.

•          Monitor grade submission and follow-up with instructors as needed.

•          Available to meet with staff and students at multiple locations; counsel students.

•          Oversee workshops, projects and other development activities within own department.

•          Serve as subject matter expert for curriculum.

•          Assist with logistics; instructor schedules.

•          Assist with recruiting, interviewing and hiring instructors.

•          Work closely with all departments.

•          Supply information for program communication including program bulletin board.

•          Report and track graduation dates, certifications and attendance.

•          May be involved with inventory management.

•          Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Supervisory

This position directly supervises Instructors and Lab Instructors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university ; Must have completed the specific program/curriculum in which one is assisting and have at least five years field experience in program/curriculum topic, two years teaching experience, particularly with adult learners, and two years experience in management role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Incumbent must be able to use the following equipment and software packages with proficiency:

•          Microsoft Office Suite

•          SMS

•          Basic internet usage & research skills

•          Element K or Evolve

•          Other technical skills as course requires

Certificates

Technical certificate depending on the class.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred or at least three to five years related management and supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous Experience in Proprietary Education is preferred.
