Technical Support Specialist

General Purpose

The purpose of the Technical Support position is to provide technical assistance and support for all CSI technical infrastructures.

 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, configure, repair and test all technical infrastructures on office and student networks.
  • Maintain security camera server.
  • Maintain printers and supply for printing process.
  • Implement installation and enhancement of antivirus software.
  • Provide technical support to students and instructors.
  • Maintain inventory of all technical equipment and request new parts as needed.
  • Perform specific software updates on school programs using cloning methods.
  • Maintain user accounts.
  • Perform on-call and help desk responsibilities.
  • Perform facility duties as necessary. 
  • Ability to travel to area campuses ( Allston, Worcester & occasionally Charlestown)

Other duties and special projects include the Facility Specialist role:

  • Moving, assembling office furniture
  • Upkeep of facility including restrooms, tables & monitors
  • Maintain and fix all facility locks
  • Point person for security related matters

Supervisory

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with at least two years related field experience and required certificates.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Skills

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Equipment/Computer Skills

Must be able to use the following equipment and software packages with proficiency:

Microsoft Client Software: (Windows 7, Windows10)

MS Office Suite (Office Pro 20 13, Office Pro 2016).

Troubleshooting Low voltage infrastructure

Proficient with power and hand tools

Certificates

Required: CompTia A+
