Academic Technology Coordinator

General Purpose

The primary responsibility of the Instructional Technology Specialist is to increase teacher capacity in

content skill, knowledge, and pedagogy. They must be able to demonstrate exemplary classroom

practice, observe, and coach classroom teachers, plan and conduct local professional development

and collect, analyze and report school data to administrators and others as needed and requested.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure that current curriculum supports certification(s) minimum standards and meets accreditation requirements.Ensure implementation of curriculum, instructional delivery format, course format and appropriate course syllabi.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a building team.
  • Train and coach instructors on delivery and format of curriculum.
  • Conducts regular curriculum implementation meetings with faculty and recommends improvements in curriculum design.
  • Assist with planning program advisory committee meetings.
  • Assist as the technical SME for program and curriculum.
  • Represent the program both in on-campus and off-campus events, meetings, etc.
  • Maintain teaching assignment as needed; serve as substitute instructor as needed.
  • Participate in the Academic Priority Committee.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree required. Formal education degrees must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education with a minimum of 24 semester (or equivalent) credit hours in the subject area.

Two years of related teaching experience in a post-secondary accredited institution is required. A thorough knowledge of program offerings, instructional methodology, and effective administration of the program is necessary.

  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Experienced in presenting material to students and all levels of employees.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. 
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.  Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. 
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to negotiate with vendors.
  • Equipment/Computer Skills
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Able to adapt quickly to software applications including course management systems, learning management systems, etc.

 

Certificates: Technical certificate(s) in field of study.
