HR Generalist - Payroll/Benefits/HRIS

Reports to Sr. VP of Operations & HR Management

General Purpose

This position will function as an HR Generalist with a primary focus on Payroll & Benefits and HRIS Administration This position will oversee all bi-weekly payroll processing and be in charge of all outsourced payroll functions. This role will be responsible for maintaining our HRIS system by overseeing implementations, upgrades, testing, reporting, and training. This person must be in tune with HR best practice and HR laws, and be willing to help the companies improve overall processes that will help build staff engagement and promote positive employee relations.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee the day to day operations of HR Administration and Services (HRIS, reporting, position management).
Design & develop new HR processes to improve the efficiency of HR operations and administration.
Monitor policy adherence to ensure appropriate, accurate, and consistent application including proper documentation, and legislative compliance.

Provide guidance to employees, directors and managers concerning sensitive work-related problems.
Participate in campus personnel related committees, working groups or focus groups, providing input and recommendations for the administration of personnel on the campus.
Encourage open communications and promote a positive work environment embracing the Institute’s vision, mission and operating principles.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree require in HR, Business or related discipline.
  • 3 - 5 years of measurable success in an HR generalist role with direct responsibility for payroll & benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of HRIS/payroll processes.
  • 2-3 years use of ADP Workforce now platform to process payroll.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Employment Law as it relates to functional responsibilities.
  • A strong sense of urgency and business acumen.
  • Ability to understand, quickly react and motivate others to adapt to the changing organization environment is a critical key to success.
  • Proven ability to establish ownership and drive assigned initiatives through to completion on time; meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Must maintain extreme confidentiality of employee and company records.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills; including a demonstrated service-first mentality, ability to build consensus and establish trust.
  • Solid organizational and prioritization skills including proven attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, hard-working, and eager to learn
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to listen to Business Partner and Staff needs for understanding and respond positively to their requests.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite and Excel.
