Academic Dean

The Academic Dean is responsible for building and developing the faculty as well as for the delivery of curriculum. A majority of your time will be spent in three general areas:

Retention: Your primary role at the Campus level will surround student retention. We are seeking someone to dive deep into the analytics; see the big picture; and learn why students are leaving and find actions to increase retention as components of the Campus Effectiveness Plan.

Implementation: We are seeking an individual that has the acumen that can strategically implement strategy from the organizational and Campus President level. As a true team-player, you will have the opportunity to create a dynamic culture that staff and students want to be a part of, driving their ideas and create buy-in to complete initiatives outlined in the Strategic Plan. You will be a fundamental part of this vision and need to have proven success in the strategy implementation.

Administration: While the Academic Dean needs to be proficient at implementation, they need to be able to balance their administrative duties along side their Academic role. You will need to prove your ability to stay task oriented, yet at the same time manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate is someone who possess vision and has the leadership to drive strategy while at the same time managing the administrative work required of this role.

Has leadership, managerial, and supervisory skill, and understands the difference and when it is appropriate to use each.
Excellent organizational skills
Be an active listener, but also understand when it is appropriate to be assertive
Ability to explain complex concepts in simple, easy to interpret ways
Must have the ability to apply strategy to regular tasks and routines
Ability to effectively coach and mentor staff and students
Have an understanding of how to use data to drive decisions
Ability to build relationships with community-based employers to help align student outcomes with employers’ needs

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
A service first mentality.
Knowledge of pedagogical methods
Knowledge of LMS
Team building skills & Leadership acumen.

Education and Experience:

BA degree in education field preferred, MA preferred.
3-5 years of managerial experience.
